Melmac Penis Envy Magic Mushrooms, also known as Homestead Penis Envy, are a variety of the well-known Penis Envy strain that Terrence McKenna and Steven Pollock, two of the great early psychonauts, found and produced. Numerous mycologists have used the original Penis Envy strain over time to create their own. In the Pacific Northwest, there is a spore dealer by the name of Homestead. In the 1980s, it was quite active, but it has since vanished from the underground mushroom scene. We can only assume that Homestead chose the name Melmac in homage to a fictional planet that hosted extraterrestrial life in the 1986–1990 sitcom ALF.

The Melmac mushrooms’ alien-like stem and cap shapes mark them distinct from the original Penis Envy strain. The edges of the caps are wavy, and the stems tend to look more misshapen. The stems are practically colourless and the caps typically range in colour from pale to dark golden caramel, much like its Penis Envy parent plants.

The Melmac is renowned for its strength. This strain is not suggested for beginners. This strain is intended for seasoned users because its potency is comparable to Penis Envy, which is occasionally more potent than the majority of strains.
